Ladies Section

A welcome from the Ladies section of the Dyke Golf Club
The Ladies at The Dyke have a well-deserved reputation for being friendly and welcoming

We try to ensure that all new members are able to play a round with a member of the committee and are shown how the section runs. A new lady member recently wrote “You are all such a lovely friendly crowd and I can't wait to get back into the swing again''

Our members enjoy a wide variety of competitions to suit all handicaps. These include monthly EG medals, stablefords, and various trophies.

The course is renowned for being a “fair challenge” and our green staff work hard to keep its’ condition to the highest level. Added to which we are rarely closed in the winter due to exceptional drainage.

We are proud to have a Scratch Division 1 team, which will be continuing in 2020 as per Sussex County Ladies Golf Association new guidelines. If you are a low handicap golfer you can be assured of some good competition in the Section.

Division 2 and 3 teams are also well supported allowing for all ladies to have competition against other clubs in Sussex.
Domestically, we play qualifying competitions most Tuesdays throughout the year, but we all enjoy some of the fun events that the committee put on.

There is a thriving Saturday morning roll-up for those ladies who work, or who like to play with a different group. There are also plenty of opportunities to enter knock-out events, either singles or as a pair. There are also chances to play mixed golf, either within the club or in competition against other clubs.

The Lady Captains always support a charity throughout their year as captain and we hold events to encourage donations for this. Traditionally we have a dressing up day once a year when the ladies take over the course and clubhouse, the whole staff enter into the spirit of this day.

We do hope that you enjoy your time at The Dyke.
